According to Professor Avijit Banerjee, a research associate, saliva provides natural protection to the teeth and chewing gum can help tooth decay.

Data from 50 years of different studies were collected in this research. Of these, 12 different research on sugar free chewing gum and its effect on oral health were considered. Various research has found that tooth cavity can be removed in 28% of cases with sugar free chewing gum.
