Exposure to air pollutant PM 2.5 weakens memory

Brain activity of women was observed for 5 years in research using a brain scanner.

Air pollution also damages the environment and health. The PM responsible for air pollution 2.5 also affects memory. According to a research published in the medical journal Brain, exposure to PM 2.5 weakens memory.

Research conducted by the Cake School of USC in California to study how pollution affects the human brain.

The research involved 998 women aged 73 to 87 years. Brain activity of all these women was observed in research for 5 years with the help of a brain scanner.
Researchers collected all the information about the time spent by all women and the level of PM 2.5 at all these places.

From all the information and the brain scanner's report, this research proved that exposure to PM 2.5 with increasing age impairs memory.
